Shoulder Pain

Bursitis, tendonitis..... all the itis's have attacked my shoulder. My left shoulder hurts so incredibly bad! It's hard to undress. It's hard to work. It's hard to play four squares. It's hard to drive. I don't know what I'd do if I were missing an arm. I would cry... and then I would move on.

I just saw a PBS show where these cartoon kids, Maya and Miguel, meet this new kid who moves into town and he has only one arm. The show demonstrated how that kid could do all of the things the others could. If that little cartoon boy can live without an arm SO CAN I!

My friend Aaron jumped on my left foot. Now that hurts too. :( Being human is poopie. Someday I will evolve and feel no pain.

Short and Bleached

Below is a picture of what I looked like with short, blonde hair. I miss it, but cutting my hair is a big commitment. It's like throwing away the last two years of life that I have been patiently growing my hair out. I felt more interesting and confident with short hair. I don't know why. I was still shy, but more confident in my shyness. My moods really may have nothing to do with my hair cut. Who knows. It was nice to just throw a hat on or throw gel in my hair and run out the door. I also used to be a fairly heavy smoker... So I was scrawnier.

I might cut my hair again soon. Or maybe I'll try dread locks.

I know this is my second post about hair in the past week! Bear with me. I'll write more cerebral things later.

PRESENTATION

In two hours I have to give a presentation with 3 other people on the government violation of the separation of church and state.

...I am nervous... I don't like getting up in front of classes. It's especially hard giving speeches in front of a class, because none of them really want to be there and listen to you speak on some hot button topic. Sometimes people are good sports and will participate, but most of the time they sit there-comotose-staring at you, just waiting for you to strip naked and start dancing or do something a little more exciting then clicking through a power point slide show and a few video clips.

I don't mind watching speeches. Some groups are really awesome... but then there are some that are just snooze-fests! Those classes end up lasting longer than the ones where the teacher just lectures. At the end of the presentation the teacher has to poke and prod each group member about their portion of the topic. Then they open it for the whole class to ask questions and silence fills the classroom. Maybe someone will cough... and then the teacher sets you free.

THE END (Always a BAD way to end your presentation!)

DrOwNiNg...What does it mean?

The other night I had a dream that my Mom jumped into this river and as soon as she hit the water she was dying... She looked unconscious. So I jumped in, REALLY freaked out to try and save her. I swam to her and grabbed her pink shirt. I really felt the weight of her unconscious body. I was really scared but determined to get her to shore. As soon as I reached this dock with her I lifted her up and this man I don't know pulled her out and then she was okay. A bit after that in the dream my brother, Justin (my boyfriend's name is also Justin) was drowning in the same river. This time he was moving but completely under water. Like he was stuck under water. I jumped in again and it was a struggle to keep his head above water while swimming to shore. This time I ran out of the water cradling him and I tried really hard to find a place to set him down to do C.P.R. I chose to find a grassy spot instead of concrete. I was really worried about the comfort and safety of his head. I did C.P.R. and he turned out to be okay and alive. Then it flashed to something completely different.
It was a weird, emotional dream.

Hair DIE!!!!

I am attempting to spruce up my hair while spending very little money. I decided to embark on a journey of highlighting my own hair. So I bought the Herbal Essence kit. It SUCKS! They give you this little Barbie brush and you're supposed to asqueeze dye in it and goo it onto your hair. Well, I tried to do it like the sheet told me, but it went horribly wrong. I will probably have to dye my whole head some color tomorrow. What a waste of $8. So you start to brush the dye in and it lasts for about 2 inches.... then the rest of those strands are still brown. I'm gonna have a dalmation-spotty head. Hello, ponytail holders and hats. Why can't they give you a foiling kit. It's not like that's that hard to do.
Man alive!

mOnEy - LaUnDeRiNg

Silly me, I left four dollars in my pants when I washed them. When I opened the dryer door it was like I won "Who Wants to be a Millionaire!" money everywhere bursting out at me. I guess I love the smell of money so much I had to use it as dryer sheets.

sOaP SuDs...

The smell of soap. It's actually one of the most important things to think about and how often do you consciously think about it? Probably not much. I don't usually think much about the smell of my soap until one day I bought some Zest on sale thinking, "It's a popular brand, I think it's a safe bet that I'll like it." It's very rare that I hate a soap enough to not use it. I didn't not realize that they were trying out this new fancy smell. It was the most hideous smell I've ever laid my nares on! Holy Smokes! Yesterday I bought some Coast from the dollar store and I had the best shower of my life this afternoon. The soap made all the difference. I even wanted to shower today! (I do shower everyday, however I don't usually look forward to it. It's just a chore.) So, in the shower today (I'll spare you the steamy details) while I was sudsing up with my new Coast I suddenly was in a GREAT mood. I realized that we used Coast a lot when I was a kid. It reminded me of being worry-free and spastic. I had an epiphany of how many smell memories I actually have. Certain smells remind me of childhood, adolescence, friend's houses, school, libraries, etc. I LOVE the smell of library books! And then there's that crusty milk smell of elementary school lunchrooms. :/ I don't like that smell.

What's your favorite soap?
What's your STRONGEST smell memory?

Too Excited for Summer.. it increases my serotonin.

I can't even explain how excited I am for Summer. It is my goal to make sure that I truly experience summer to the fullest of possibilities. The last couple of summers I've been a slave to the workforce. I still will probably work a lot, but I'm going to try and balance it with taking periods of time off to run away and do fun things, like camping and hiking and visiting friends. I plan to find a second job so I can pick up daytime hours. I'm ready to try out a different job again. I want to do new things and meet different people. It'd be super fun to do something outdoors or with kids. I will see what happens.
Soon I will go on a quest to find applications from EVERYWHERE in Duluth.

I'm sick of not following my gut when I feel I should make different choices for my life.

SCHOOL PROJECTS

I have to do a big presentation for my group communications class. Our topic is: the government's violation of the separation of church and state. There's four of us and we split up the issues we want to cover so we each can do individual research. My issue to research is the ten commandments monuments. I'm kind of teetering on where to begin.

If anyone has any input they'd like to give me on your own opinions or knowledge or links to good sites. Please Do!
